International Banquet brings global flavor to RU (Video)

The annual International Banquet at Radford University brings together international students, study abroad students and American students to celebrate their cultures through food, performances and presentations.

The banquet is sponsored by the International Student Affairs Council of the SGA, an organization that serves as the voice for international students on campus.

According to Teresa King, assistant director and immigration counselor for the International Education Center (IEC), the council's mission is to "provide programming and social events as well as educational events to pull people together and make a sense of community."

The International Banquet fulfills this mission by offering recipes from around the world, submitted and prepared by students in cooperation with Chartwell's staff. Cultural performances from around the world accompany the cuisine in a festival of international diversity and understanding.

International education opportunities at RU are overseen by International Education Center (IEC), which assists students pursuing study abroad experiences, facilitates international programs on-campus and advises international students and faculty with immigration and naturalization needs.
