Enterprise CarShare offering membership discount

Enterprise CarShare, RU’s car sharing program, is offering a discounted membership fee for individuals who enroll by Sept. 30.

Students, faculty and staff who enroll as new members will pay only $10 for membership and receive $35 in driving credits.

Membership, which regularly is $35, includes access to vehicles in designated on-campus parking spaces; online access to vehicle registration; low rates for hourly, daily and overnight use; and 24-hour, 7-days-a-week vehicle availability.

Enterprise CarShare, formally known on campus as WeCar, is a membership-based, automated car-rental option that offers vehicles on a short-term basis. The program is available to students, faculty and staff with a credit card and a valid driver’s license.

Registered members have access to a Ford Focus and a Nissan Altima Hybrid, available in parking lot F between Muse and Tyler Halls. Drivers access the vehicles with their registration cards.

WeCar registration cards continue to work after the name change.

An Enterprise CarShare member can reserve a vehicle online, and then access it with the membership card. Vehicles are returned to the pickup spot in lot F. Fuel and insurance are included. Students 18 and older are eligible for membership in Enterprise CarShare and its around-the-clock access. Rentals are available by the hour, by the day and overnight.

The Enterprise CarShare program operates services to more than 60 universities, as well as dozens of military bases, federal, state and local government entities, corporations and retail markets throughout North America.
