President Kyle Hosts Residential Life Staff

With the annual fall move-in looming and in the midst of a rigorous training schedule, almost 100 resident assistants and resident directors from Radford University's Office of Housing and Residential Life took a break Tuesday to enjoy a dinner with President Penelope W. Kyle at her home, Hickory Hill.

"I am pleased to have this opportunity to recognize the Residential Life staff," Kyle said. "Because they are the face of Radford University for new students just arriving on campus, they play a huge role in making everyone, including families and friends, feel welcome."

Residential Life Director Amber Mullen said, "It was absolutely a nice way to start the hectic move-in period, and it was so kind of President Kyle to recognize our staff's hard work and contributions as student leaders on campus."

The residential life staff traveled to the reception by bus from the Hurlburt Student Center in three shifts so that each person involved for 2012-13 had an opportunity to chat with the president, Mullen said.

RU's residential community consists of 15 residence halls ranging in size to accommodate from 120 students to nearly 900. Additional apartment space is available for upper-class students.
