Radford University Homecoming 2011 to be held Jan. 28-29

Radford University will welcome alumni and friends for a weekend of fun during Homecoming 2011 on Jan. 28-29, 2011.  With a schedule full of events, there is sure to be something for everyone.

RU Homecoming 2011

The weekend kicks off on Friday with Alumni Teaching Day, a chance for alumni to take their turn at the front of the classroom sharing their knowledge and expertise with today’s students.  That night former men’s and women’s basketball players will once again take to the courts for all-alumni games.

For those "cool" enough to brave the winter waters of the New River, the Highlander Polar Plunge® will take place at noon on Saturday at Dudley’s Landing in Radford’s Bisset Park.  All proceeds from the event will benefit Special Olympics.

The afternoon and evening also promise to be full of excitement as Highlander fans gather in the Dedmon Center to cheer on the women’s and men’s basketball teams as they take on Coastal Carolina.  Between the games, a “Chrusties Celebration” will offer attendees a taste of the pizza treats remembered and beloved by many former RU students.

All guests who attend the Chrusties Celebration will also receive free admission to the post-game Dread the Red BBQ event, where they will have the opportunity to meet many RU athletic team coaches. Campus tours, children’s activities and many other events will also be held through the weekend.

Pre-registration is required for most events and space is limited. To view a full schedule of events and to register online, visit the Homecoming 2011 website.
