27th Annual Student Engagement Forum English 'Elsewhere' Panel
Wednesday Apr 18
2:00 PM - 2:50 PM @ Heth Hall, Room 022
After reading extensively on the literature of place, each student was asked to reflect on an encounter they have had with a place, either past or present—to map it in words. They were asked to get in both the exterior landscape, the one we see, but also the interior one, the center of meaning. Some questions they explore: is it the physical environment, the human community, or some combination of both that is important to you about this place? Have you ever felt that the place you are writing about is or could be threatened in some way? If so, how did/would you respond?
