    The Department of Geology’s daylong new-student field excursion serves as an orientation for students who are new to the university’s geology major. It is open to freshmen and transfer students, as well as those Radford students who, before the fall semester, switched majors to geology. The trip gives students an opportunity to get to know fellow geology majors and their professors.

    Radford University’s Master of Science in Strategic Communication program is now being offered at higher education centers in Abingdon, Martinsville and South Boston.

    Radford University officially inaugurated Bret Danilowicz, Ph.D., as the eighth president in the 112-year history of the institution during a warm ceremony on a chilly Friday morning, Sept. 30, 2022 on the McConnell Library lawn. 

  6. Professor emeritus travels far to deliver climate change address »

    Over the summer, Prahlad Kasturi, Ph.D., visited the Kargil Campus of the University of Ladakh in India to speak about and discuss climate change. The university is located in the Trans-Himalayas, in a region Kasturi said is particularly susceptible to environmental shifts.

  9. Radford University welcomes sports broadcaster Lauren Sisler for National Recovery Month event »

    Radford University will help raise awareness about National Recovery Month by welcoming ESPN and SEC Network sports broadcaster Lauren Sisler to campus to present “Road to Redemption.”  Sisler lost both of her parents to their concealed battle with prescription drug addiction within hours of one another when she was an 18-year-old student at Rutgers University. She will discuss that tragedy and how she was able to overcome the resulting adversity, finding her own path to a successful life and career.

    Radford, Virginia, home of the Highlanders and Radford University, has been named by Realtor.com as one of America’s Most Affordable College Towns for Homebuyers in 2022. Radford ranked No. 8 on the list of places where, the website notes, “scholarly buyers can go to find a good deal on a home.”

  11. Davis College network event “Firm Night” sees high turnout, record number of employers  »

    Firm Night, a networking event that offers business students face-to-face meetings with potential employers, reached new highs this year. On Sept. 6, more than 80 Highlanders took part and were able to huddle with three dozen prestigious firms – a record level for the Davis College function.
