Dalton Eminent Scholar Award

The Dalton Eminent Senior Scholar Award serves to recognize faculty members with a distinguished national and/or international reputation in their disciplines. Each award provides funding for research travel and materials, and additional funding upon successful completion of a current or future scholarly activity and notification of the Office of the Provost. Award recipients are encouraged to involve student investigators in the funded activity.

Recipients of the Dalton Eminent Senior Scholar Award must be Radford University Associate or Full Professors with service in the rank at Radford University for a minimum of three academic years. Awardees may be considered for this award again after at least three years from the conclusion of the previous award.

One award is reserved for a Dalton Eminent Scholar Rising Star.   The Rising Star designation recognizes a faculty member showing extraordinary promise for a career of excellence with research or creative scholarship in the recipient’s discipline. Nominees must be in no more than his sixth year of continuous service as full-time faculty member at a higher education institution, and in at least his or her third year of continuous faculty service at Radford University.  Faculty members are only eligible to receive the Rising Star designation once. Rising Star recipients are identified with an asterisk*.
