OURS CARES Awards

We welcome everyone to the 2nd annual OURS CARES (Office of Undergraduate Research & Scholarship Creative Arts and Research Excellence: Scholar) Awards: Showcasing the Best in Undergraduate Research! This event will be held April 22nd recognize students and faculty who had significant achievements in undergraduate research throughout the past year. Please join us on Friday, April 22nd (time TBD) for the OURS CARES Awards, hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship! Outstanding Undergraduate Research Mentor Award

 

It is with great excitement that the Office on Undergraduate Research & Scholarship (OURS) recognizes the pivotal role of faculty mentors in providing transformative learning opportunities to our students through undergraduate research and creative inquiry. The OURS Outstanding Mentor Award recognizes demonstrated excellence in mentoring and supporting undergraduate researchers. Excellence in Mentored Research and Creative Inquiry

Excellence in mentored resereach and creative inquiry honors of the highest level of dissemination of undergraduate research and their mentors who have provided these high impact, student experiences. Summer Undergraduate Research Fellows (SURF)

The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF) program fosters a community of undergraduate research and engaged scholarship during the summer months at Radford University. Highlander Research Rookies

This Highlander Research Rookies program provides 15 apprenticeships each year to high-achieving and highly-motivated first and second year students to work on a research project of their interest.  The aim of the program is to engage students in faculty-mentored, hands-on research and creative scholarly activities. The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship wishes to acknowledge the accomplishments of this hard-working group of students and their research. Lightning Research Competition

The Lightning Research Competition is a competition held twice yearly: once during the Annual Winter Creative Arts and Research Days (WinterCARD) and once at the annual Student Engagement Forum (SEF). This competition is an opportunity for students to develop their ability to concisely communicate their research to a general audience. It is judged by a panel of Radford University Alumni who were involved in research during their undergraduate program. Click here to view this year's winners. 

Undergraduate Research Designation

The Radford University Research Scholar transcript designation is in recognition of the accomplishment of undergraduate students who have contributed to the knowledge base within a field of study through active research outside the classroom. The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship wishes to recognize those students who have achieved this designation. Accelerated Research Opportunities (ARO)

The Accelerated Research Opportunities (ARO) is a program for highly-qualified, motivated students wishing to pursue undergraduate research. ARO is a living-learning community that helps first-year students get started on research at Radford University. The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship wishes to recognize those students who completed the ARO program this year.
