What is Transfer Quest?

We strongly recommend that students who are transferring to Radford University and will begin classes in the fall participate in one of our Transfer Quest programs we will offer in June and July. These programs are designed to help students in their transition to Radford University. Students will:

  • Register for classes.
  • Obtain ID cards.
  • Learn about campus services.
  • Familiarize themselves with the campus.
  • Interact with their fellow transfer students and student leaders in a relaxed atmosphere.

Transfer students who do not attend one of these programs must register online for and attend an abbreviated one-day August Transfer Quest orientation program just before fall classes begin. Online registration for this session will open August 1, and all transfer students who did not attend a summer Transfer Quest program must register for and attend this program.

The Fall Transfer Quest orientation takes a “just the basics” approach that focuses primarily upon class scheduling. We do our best to offer experiences in August equivalent to those during the summer, but time and other limitations make that a difficult goal to attain. Again, we recommend that you participate in a Transfer Quest program earlier in the summer if at all possible.

In order to facilitate your planning to attend orientation, we have attempted to answer some of the questions we have received most frequently through the years on our Frequently Asked Questions page.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to email us anytime at orientation@radford.edu or call the Office of New Student and Family Programs at (540) 831-5923 during normal business hours!
