What is IMPACT?
Radford University is delivering Innovative Mobile Personalized Accelerated Competency Training (IMPACT): a competency-based education (CBE) workforce development program.
IMPACT is a first-of-its-kind program among four-year public institutions in Virginia. Presently, IMPACT offers a cybersecurity certificate program delivered online in an asynchronous, self-paced manner. The program is available at a fixed cost, regardless of the timeframe in which it is completed.
The IMPACT program:
- Covers five out of seven domains of the NIST Cybersecurity Workforce Framework
- Compliant with DoD 8140 directive
- Directly aligned with national standards:
- National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST)
- National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE)
- Designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CDE) by both the National Security Agency (NSA) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
