HR Paperwork Deadline Dates

All paperwork for new hires, rehires, or paperwork affecting an employee’s pay should be received in Human Resources on or before the dates listed in the table below:

Paperwork received after the deadline dates will be processed on the next available pay date in 2018. Please note the late submission of timesheets could result in late payments.  Please visit the Payroll website for due dates.

PeopleAdmin SelectSuite Resources

Need a quick refresher on how to modify a position description, request to advertise, begin a hiring proposal or review applicants for a posting? Be sure to check out our How to Videos that are 2-4 minutes in length.

PeopleAdmin SelectSuite Training

SelectSuite system is designed to allow users to track the applicant and recruitment process. The Applicant Tracking module streamlines the recruitment process while transparent communication and consistent hiring processes. The Position Management module allows users to modify and manage position descriptions. The training sessions are held in the HR Conference Room on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, February 13, 2018 @ 2:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 13, 2018 @ 2:00 p.m.

VRS Defined Contribution Plan Appointments Available

Learn how to save with the DCP ORP (Optional Retirement Plan), Commonwealth of Virginia 457 and the VRS Hybrid 457. We invite you to register for a one-on-one appointment to learn more about the defined contribution component of your plan.

Defined Contribution Plans Retirement Specialists from ICMA-RC, the record-keeper for the VRS Defined Contribution Plans, are available to speak with you and answer any questions.

TIAA Counseling Sessions

TIAA counseling sessions are coming to campus in April. No matter where you are in life just—getting started or planning for retirement, a session with Matthew Meade can help you create a plan for your retirement goals. These sessions are at no additional cost as a part of your retirement plan. You’ll get answers to these questions and more:

  • Am I invested in the right mix of investments to help meet my goals?
  • Am I saying enough to create the retirement income I need?
  • How do I take income from my retirement account once I stop working?

One-hour individual sessions will be conducted in Heth 239 on April 4, 2018 and April 5, 2018. Register for one of the sessions and RSVP today, as space is limited. You can also call 800-732-8353, weekdays, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (ET).

Annual PEAK Program

The Department of Health and Human Performance, specifically the Physical and Health Education Program students, will be presenting their annual PEAK program once again this spring starting on February 3, 2018. Please see the PEAK flyer for additional information.

Highlander Wellness

Did you know eating breakfast gives our bodies many benefits including feeling energized, thinking clearly and stabilizing blood sugar.
