Foundation Application Process
Foundation Scholarship Application Process
To create a general application, students may log on to https://radford.academicworks.com, using their OneCampus log-on credentials. Applicants will have the opportunity to share information about their activities, honors, achievements, organizational participation and leadership. Once the general application is submitted, it will be viewable in students’ AcademicWorks portals.
Students will be required to electronically sign an honor statement, “To the best of my knowledge, I have completed this application accurately and thoroughly” which is accompanied by the Honor Pledge of Radford University: “I do hereby resolve to uphold the Honor Pledge of Radford University by refraining from lying, from stealing or unauthorized possession of property, and from violating the Standards of Student Conduct”.
Because many scholarships require the university to consider GPA, major, hours completed, full-time/part-time status, class standings, and financial need, this kind of data will be imported from Banner, the university’s student information system.
Types of Scholarship Opportunities
Based on students’ general application and academic data pulled in from Banner, Academic Works is able to identify and match students two ways:
- Auto-match
- Apply-to
Applicants may be auto-matched to scholarship opportunities for review by the scholarship committees. These scholarship opportunities require no additional information from the student beyond the general application, and tend to have a larger pool of qualified applicants. These scholarships will not be viewable in students’ AcademicWorks portal unless a scholarship is awarded. If awarded, the scholarship(s) will be viewable once the award notification is sent.
Applicants may be matched to apply-to scholarship opportunities for review by scholarship committees if the applicant fulfills the requirements to apply and/or qualifies based on the question(s) asked. These scholarships tend to have a smaller pool of qualified applicants. These scholarship opportunities will be viewable in the applicant’s AcademicWorks portal.
To be considered for apply-to scholarships, students may be required to provide one or more of the following:
- Essay
- Names and emails of references
- Resumé
- Answer to a specific question or questions that could be used as qualifiers
