Nine chemistry faculty publish their continuing work on inclusive teaching

Chemistry_Faculty
Nine chemistry faculty attended the 25th Annual Biennial Conference of Chemical Educators (BCCE) at Notre Dame University. This meeting allows chemical educators to share their classroom successes and attend workshops which showcase alternative approaches to teaching.

Twelve Radford University faculty published an article in the Journal of Chemical Education, a peer-reviewed journal providing articles and resources for those teaching and interested in chemistry. Professors Sarah Kennedy, Amy Balija, Christopher Bibeau, Timothy Fuhrer, Lissa Huston, Kimberly Lane, Christopher Monceaux, Kristina Stefaniak and post-doctoral fellow Milcah Jackson share their work on “Faculty Professional Development on Inclusive Pedagogy Yields Chemistry Curriculum Transformation, Equity Awareness, and Community”. This project is one example of the work being done in the department as a result of the HHMI Inclusive Excellence grant awarded in 2017. You can read about the continuing changes occuring in the Department by viewing the full text at https://pubs.acs.org.
