Interdisciplinary class brings together anthropology and biology with peer-designed board game
Can you build a boardgame that accurately demonstrates evolution AND is fun to play? It’s a harder challenge than you might think, but in Spring of 2019 an interdisciplinary class of Honors biology and anthropology students (with the help of Drs. Cassady Urista [Anthropologcal Sciences] and Jason Davis [Biology]) gave it a go. Working together they designed “rEvolution: Age of Dragons” a fun, competitive board game where players compete to conquer an island world using a constantly evolving population of biologically-inspired dragons! Follow the link to see students this semester playing with, and learning from, the game their peers built.
