Allie Mills Wins Poster Award at Molecular Biology Symposium

RU junior biology major Christine (Allie) Mills won the undergraduate poster award at the Molecular Plant Sciences Mini-Symposium held at Virginia Tech on March 11, 2011. Mills has also been selected to take part in a Howard Hughes Medical Institute sponsored summer research program at Louisiana State University from late May through July. Allie has spent the last two years doing undergraduate research on developmental genetics of Arabidopsis thaliana under the direction of Dr. Tara Phelps-Durr. After graduation Allie plans to attend graduate school and pursue a research and teaching career in genetics.
