Radford Sociology in AACS News
Radford Sociology received double recognition from the Association for Applied & Clinical Sociology (AACS) at the start of October. Announced this week, Radford University's Program in Public Sociology is the 2020 recipient of the William Julius Wilson Award. “This prestigious award is presented to an individual or organization whose work has been demonstrably effective in breaking the cycle of poverty,” wrote the AACS in a letter to Dr. Wisecup, director of the Center for Social and Cultural Research (CSCR).
Also announced this week, Dr. Wisecup has been elected to a two-year term as an At-large Member of the AACS’s Board of Directors. Dr. Wisecup will be virtually presented with the award and introduced at the AACS’s general business meeting on Friday, October 9.
