The Best Thing About Radford (What They Say…)

An applied science way to approach human capital management in business.  What I learned at Radford set me up to differentiate me in the job market.  It is a practical Masters degree that helps make sense of organizational issues.  I work with other Radford alumni and it is still fun to innovate with them.

My resume was full of applied experience by the time I graduated - I received a job offer after my first interview!

The I/O program taught and enriched my transferable skills which has made me a competitive candidate and successful employee as I moved around to various positions within my organization.

Experience. I left Radford able to compete with PhD applicants because I had 2 years of consulting experience by the time I graduated.

It gave me options - I was able to learn practical/consulting skills and research skills, both of which were invauable and have helped me get to where I am today!

Gave me a diverse skill set. I am the only I/O-type person in my organization, so I've had the opportunity to revamp our selection process, develop trainings, and redesign our performance appraisal system. As the only person in the company with experience in these areas, I've been able to make a significant impact.

The I/O program taught me a number of important skills that I still use today in my career. Most importantly, however, it provided me with a broad education, which has allowed me to be very agile in my career and be well qualified for a number of different and diverse opportunities.

The I/O program provided me with a strong network of alumni.

Not only did the faculty, staff, and peers help me develop practical and technical skills to be successful in the workforce, but it allowed me to develop the soft skills that helps you stand out among the rest. Through a collaborative cohort that became life-long friends, and program leaders that genuinely cared about your success and well-being - this program catapulted my career.

Radford gave me amazing consulting opportunities to apply I/O Psychology in the real world. Those opportunities and experiences have tremendously helped when demonstrating my value to employers and building an incredible career!

The Radford I/O program gave me consulting experience with clients that translated well to my current role working in one of the top Global Consulting firms in the world.

I was able to put knowledge learned immediately into practice into various type of organizations and companies. The scientist-practitioner model I experienced in Radford's I/O program truly provided a noteworthy "jump start" to my career.
