Mr. Johannes Grow

Johannes Grow is an instructor in the Department of Political Science at Radford University. His research interests are in International Relations, the European Union, political theory, and history of political thought. At Radford University, Mr. Grow teaches a wide variety of courses, including Introduction to Politics, Big Questions in Politics, Introduction to American Government, Introduction to International Studies, and Introduction to Peace Studies. In the classroom, he designs courses and classroom assignments to strengthen his students’ ability to critically question preconceived notions and underlying assumptions that structure dominant narratives. He believes that it is necessary for students to be able to think critically and reflect on how their academic work can help them better understand current political challenges beyond the classroom.

He received a Master’s in Public and International Affairs and a B.A in International Studies and German from Virginia Tech.
