Professor Richard Straw Leads Students on European Study Abroad Experience

Students on the World War II study abroad experience.

Professor of History Richard Straw led 15 students on a study abroad experience to England, France, Belgium, and Germany. During the three-week trip, students explored sites related to World War II. They experienced the beaches of Normandy, 75 years after the D-Day landings, and they followed the track of the Allied armies that liberated Western Europe from Nazi occupation during 1944-1945. Stops also included Berlin, where students were able to visit reminants of the wall that divided the city during the Cold War, and Nuremberg, the location of postwar war crimes trials. This was the fourth time that Dr. Straw has offered the World War II study abroad.
