The College of Graduate Studies and Research (CGSR) prepares students for professional careers in a wide range of programs, from the traditional arts and sciences to education to the applied health sciences, but all of them belong to the same University-wide community of knowledge.

The Graduate College has evolved to address the needs of both working adult students and full-time student scholars by offering challenging and enriching learning opportunities through classes offered in a variety of mediums and locations. The Graduate College features 26 master’s degrees, seven doctoral programs and many post bachelor’s certificates.  With a presence in Radford, Roanoke, Higher Education Centers across Southwest Virginia and virtual learning environments, graduates from the College of Graduate Studies and Research develop the critical competencies and professional skills to serve them well in their academic and professional careers.

The College of Graduate Studies and Research provides students with state-of-the-art classrooms, research and internship opportunities, support for students to attend and present at professional conferences and so much more. Our programs are not only regionally accredited but also accredited by some of the premier accrediting bodies, including the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for the MBA program and the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) in our Counseling and Human Development program.  Many of our programs are nationally ranked as top programs in their field including:

College of Graduate Studies and Research students balance rigorous class schedules and programs of study that often include labs, research and clinical hours with full or part-time jobs. Their success requires time to focus on their academics without the additional demands of working long hours to finance their education. Help support a graduate student’s education by supporting an application fee waiver to Radford University, which helps Radford recruit more top-level students to its many graduate programs.
