Clan Maclaine of Lochbuie
http://members.tripod.com/maclainelochbuie/

The progenitor of Clan Maclaine of Lochbuie was "Gillean of the Battleaxe," a fierce Scottish warrior born about 1210. The Maclaine (spelled MacLean until the 1700s) of Lochbuie lands were mainly on the isle of Mull, just off the west coast of Scotland. Moy Castle, the Maclaine stronghold, is still standing on the shore of Lochbuie, although it is in ruins. The Maclaine of Lochbuie chief led a band of clansmen who defeated government forces in the first battle of the Jacobite campaign on behalf of James II, The Old Pretender, in 1689. Among the various families associated with Clan Maclaine of Lochbuie are Maclaines, MacLeans, MacCormicks, MacFaddens, MacGillivrays, Blacks and Huies.
