Clan Cunningham Society has the distinction of being the only Clan Cunningham organization in America formed upon the advice and blessing of the Office of the Lord Lyon, King of Arms in Scotland. The honor was extended to Clan Cunningham Society in 1984, and it was upon the recommendation of the Lord Lyons Office that the organization adopted the name Clan Cunningham Society of America. CCSA is non-political, non-sectarian and operates as a nonprofit corporation.
Clan Cunningham Society of America is the first and largest Clan Cunningham organization in the world. CCSA has worked hard to preserve, discover, restore, document and share our rich Cunningham heritage.
Clan Cunningham Societys goals:
To preserve and promote the customs, traditions, heritage and unity of Clan Cunningham.
To discover the clans rightful Chief and assist in having the Lord Lyon recognize the same.
To collect, preserve and identify the clans historical documents, sites, tartans, music, literature and genealogical records.
To cultivate an awareness of and appreciation for the clans Scottish culture, heraldry, music, customs, folklore and language and to assist in the education of Society members, their descendants or any other group interested in Scottish matters past, present or future.
To promote the clans Scottish heritage and inspire among its membership and future generations the spirit and pride of its ancestors by representing the Society at Scottish games, festivals or other related gatherings.
