Graduate Programs
Our graduate students work with faculty to design their course of study. Because of the comfortable size and flexibility of our M.F.A. program, students benefit from close association with professional faculty and fellow students. The graduate program draws students from many parts of the United States as well as other countries, promoting a global perspective. M.F.A. Program
 

M.F.A. (Master of Fine Arts) : 60 hours
Allows students to seek a terminal degree in studio art. Students elect an area of concentration. Art Requirments for Admission: Minimum grade point average of 2.75 overall and in the major; 2 letters of reference; statement of philosophy, overall goals, synopsis of work; B.F.A. or commensurate collegiate course work; twenty slides or CD of recent art work.
Application Dates: March 15 for fall; October 1 for spring.

Undergraduate Programs
Students must complete 120 to 125 semester hours to graduate, depending on their degree program. This includes 50 hours in general education courses. No portfolio is required for acceptance into the undergraduate art degrees. You can download PDF advising checksheets for each degree program by clicking on the links. B.F.A. (Bachelor of Fine Arts) : 69 hours
Provides a comprehensive education for the professional artist and prepares a student for graduate study.

B.F.A. (Bachelor of Fine Arts) with Graphic Desgin Concentration: 70 hours
Provides a comprehensive education for the professional graphic designer and prepares a student for graduate study.

B.S. (Bachelor of Science) with Studio Concentration : 39 hours
Allows a student to seek a basic education in art, leaving room to explore other disciplines. Recommended for a student seeking a second major or a minor in another discipline.

B.S. (Bachelor of Science) in Art Education with Licensure: 45 hours in Art plus 30 hours in Education
Prepares a student for teaching art at the primary and secondary levels. Requires courses in the education department for certification. Only for students entering or declaring for the B.S. in Art Education after August 2004

B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) with Art History & Museum Studies Concentration : 42 hours
Allows a student to concentrate in art history and museum studies. Requires a minimum of 6 hours in a foreign language.
