Interim President Carolyn Ringer Lepre, Ph.D., presented the annual State of the University address Friday morning, Oct. 1, 2021, in Bondurant Auditorium, highlighting and celebrating with the Radford family the progress the university has made in the past year and sharing the strategic initiatives that will propel it into the future.

Third-year Radford University Carilion Doctor of Physical Therapy student Sally Sroge helped raise $4,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association during the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Roanoke last year. In 2021, she aims to beat that goal which will help find further treatment and a cure for Alzheimer’s disease in the near future.

Radford University is one of the 143 best colleges in the Southeast according to The Princeton Review. The education services company lists Radford in the Best in the Southeast section of its "2022 Best Colleges: Region by Region" website feature that posted in August 2021.  

Radford University’s Board of Visitors met on campus for its quarterly sessions Sept. 9-10, 2021, and approved measures that will continue to drive the university toward its goal of becoming the premier innovative and student-focused higher education institution in Virginia.

Radford University hosted its annual Partners in Excellence luncheon on Sept. 30, 2021, kicking off the university’s Homecoming weekend by welcoming 150 students and their benefactors to campus for an opportunity to meet and get to know one other.

Radford University and the Appalachian School of Law (ASL) are collaborating on new academic initiatives that include a 3+3 program and a joint MBA to J.D. program, as well as a symposium on the intersection of substance use and the law. 

Food, games, live entertainment and more will again be part of the Radford Highlanders Festival scheduled for Oct. 9, 2021, on the Radford University campus.

Radford University has been recognized for its honorable commitment to engaged, hands-on education by Colleges of Distinction, a one-of-a-kind guide for college-bound students. In addition, Radford’s academic programs in business, education, nursing and engineering were singled out for individual recognition, along with student support services for career development and military support.

Radford University’s strong academic tradition and commitment to student success continue to garner recognition in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 Best Colleges report.

If love is blind, as the saying goes, it probably doesn’t care much about romantic settings. Moonlit gardens on enchanted evenings may be nice, but you’re just as likely to find true love over a game of cornhole. Just ask Duncan Sandoz ’20 and Leah Stepp ’21.
