Overview

This program provides the background, education, and tools to help students address the needs of learners with disabilities in general education classrooms, including learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, emotional and behavioral disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder. Students will learn how to design and implement specially designed instruction and collaborate with content area teachers to ensure the academic success of these students.

Admissions Requirements

A combination of factors including GPA, current resume, 2 professional references, official transcripts, and current teaching license will be used for determining acceptance to the certificate program.

There are opportunities to conduct research in classrooms, which can result in publishing peer-reviewed journal articles or books and presenting at professional conferences with faculty.
