Overview

This certificate is intended for educators, therapists, human services personnel, and family members who work with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The program consists of 12 semester hours of courses covering the skill competencies for professionals and paraprofessionals as outlined by Virginia’s Autism Council.

Opportunities for Autism Studies students at Radford

There are opportunities to conduct research in classrooms which can result in publishing peer-reviewed journal articles or books and presenting at professional conferences with faculty. There are also opportunities to develop and deliver a professional development workshop to teachers.

A combination of factors including current resume and official transcripts will be used for determining acceptance to the certificate program
