
Shaun Whiteside, '11
RU alumni with MFA degrees maintain active exhibition records and many are beginning teaching careers. Shaun Whiteside, a 2011 graduate, has shown his work nationally and will be an adjunct instructor in the Department of Art beginning in fall 2012.

Caitlin Potosnak, '12
Caitlin Potosnak is currently a member of the West Virginia Dance Company. Throughout the year, the company will be working with renowned dance artists including Doug Varone, Donald Laney, Shane O'Hara, Carli Mareneck, Heather Taylor-Martin, Dr. Eluza Santos, and Toneta Akers-Toler. Performance and dance education is central to the company’s mission and Ms. Potosnak is very excited about her first season with the company!

Monte C. Haught, ‘91
Previously nominated for making Glee stars look good, Hair and Makeup Designer Monte C. Haught is up again for the Emmy in Outstanding Hairstyling for a Movie or Miniseries for his work on American Horror Story. Haught is Department Head Hairstylist for the popular show. A veteran of Broadway and now TV, Monte says, “I credit my time at Radford Theatre Department in helping me on my career path and success!”

Aislinn Lowry, '10
Aislinn Lowry (BFA '07, MFA '10) had work in a group show, “Watermarks 2012,” at the Uptown Gallery in Richmond last May, and a solo show at the Green Heron Gallery in Radford in 2012. She also teaches at Concord University.

Melissa Lineburg, '11
Melissa Lineburg dances with Misako Ballet Company in Maryland, infusing Japanese culture with ballet. MBC performance highlights include: Marie Taglioni in Pas de Quatre, Odette variation, and Esmeralda. Melissa also dances with MOVEius Dance, an emerging contemporary ballet company who received the “Pick of the Fringe” Audience Choice Award for best dance performance at DC’s Capitol Fringe Festival. After graduation, Melissa interned with Americans for the Arts and is now the Membership Fellow at Dance/USA.

Jim Chandler, '03
Since 2010 Jim has appeared in ten short films. A break came when he landed a role in the attention-grabbing 'mockbuster' Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies. Jim made his national television debut in July 2012 on Lifetime Network's hit show Drop Dead Diva and he just completed Pop Rocket, a new web-series from Olan Rogers. Jim says he hopes what he learned at RU will help him “keep fooling the audience.”

Deanna Doyle, '12
Undergraduate alumni are finding jobs in graphic design, entry level positions in museums, and entering graduate school. Deanna Doyle, a 2012 alum, entered a museum studies graduate program at Georgetown University in fall 2012.

A.T. Moffett, '02
A.T. Moffett received her B.A. in Dance in 2002. She recently completed an M.F.A. in Dance at the University of Oregon and now teaches for the Cowles Center in Minneapolis, MN as well as Winona State University. She is also a member of TRANSForm Dance Collective, a group of artists invested in cross-country collaboration. Her choreography has been seen in PA, NJ, CA, and OR and in 2012 her research “Higher Order Thinking in the Dance Studio” will be published in the Journal of Dance Education. A.T. danced professionally in New York and Philadelphia, working with choreographers Myra Bazell, Tania Isaac, Stephan Koplowitz, Mary Anthony, Donald McKayle, and the Sokolow Dance Foundation.

Daniel W. Boothe, '06
Daniel W. Boothe studied conducting, composition, and percussion before receiving his Bachelor of Music. While here, he was commissioned to compose the music for President Kyle’s inauguration. Lieutenant Daniel W. Boothe is currently Deputy Commander and Associate Conductor of the United States Air Force Band of Flight located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.

Jayma Mays, '00
Jayma Mays graduated from RU in 2000 with a B.S. in Theatre. Best known for her role as Emma Pillsbury in the award-winning Glee, she has made numerous appearances in movies including The Smurfs and television shows such as Heroes and Ugly Betty.

Allie Pitcher, '10
Allie Pitcher received her B.A. in Art, concentrating in art history and museum studies. Following her selection and work for a summer curatorial and museum education internship at the Taubman Museum, she was asked to continue to work there in a paid position as a special curatorial assistant. At present, her varied responsibilities include coordinating, executing and contributing to the organization of museum educational events, gallery guides, and future curatorial planning.

Janet Cushing, '05
Janet Cushing received her B.S. in Design in 2005 and is now working with famed American fashion designer Vera Wang. Read more about Cushing's experiences at Radford University and in New York.
