The heat is on!
The first image below shows a rather innocuous North Carolina on Thursday, August 9.
But the second image below shows the same area using thermal imagery.
Just to give an idea of some of the temperatures, 30 degrees C is 88 F.
But a lot of this area is more than 30C!
For example, the metropolitan area of Charlotte and areas west of that are already well above 30C.
And this was taken around noon, not even in the hottest part of the day.Radford University is the spot with the red circle.
