Flood and drought

The image below shows the remarkable difference that even short distances can make.
The states to the west--Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, etc.--are seen to be greener even from space,
while the states to the east and midwest are obviously much less green, brown, even.
The storm front that bypassed the midwest is seen over the Atlantic states.
