Anatomy of a cold front
The image below shows the jet stream dipping down from Canada, bringing with it
a blast of cold air.
Daytime highs in this clear-but-cold area were more than 100F colder
than usual for this time of the year.
This cold blast follows the typical counterclockwise path exhibited by northern
hemisphere weather patterns.
