Jet contrails revealed
The first image below shows a false color
(realistic-looking) image of New England and the eastern part of Canada.
The second image is an image that shows the main distribution of the water vapor
in the atmosphere.
The streaks tilted to the northeast in the second image are the remnants of the
jet contrails from the numerous international flights going over the North
Atlantic to Europe.
