Early morning shadows illuminate Virginia
The low-angle sun of the early morning makes for interesting
contrasts.
The Appalachian Mountains really stand out, while the heights of
the clouds are emphasized.
In northern Kentucky and western Ohio, the linear features are not regular
clouds but jet contrails condensing into ice crystals (just like regular clouds)
in the cold air.
