Using XSB and Jlog
XSB
- xsb is installed on rucs
- Run xsb interactively with
/usr/local/bin/xsb
- Source program:
- Put your source program database in foo.P, for example
- Load foo.P into xsb with [foo].
- Exit xsb with halt. or ^D (ie control-D,
which indicates interactive end of file)

jlog
- Jlog is available on the windows machines in the labs in
Davis and Stuart
- jlog home page has
a downloadable java version that runs as an application or as
an applet
Running jlog as an Application
- Select JLog Application from the IT college start menu
- This will bring up a main window that you will use
to do queries
- Home users can run java -jar JLog.jar in a
command window
- Prolog programs are created and/or loaded using a KB
window
- To load an existing prolog program select File/Open KB
- Alternatively, to create a new prolog program
select File/New KB, type in your program,
and then save it
- After you have input or loaded your source,
compile it using Tool/Consult KB or Tool/Consult All
- After compiling your program, enter queries into the
Query textbox and press Query.
- The Retry button looks for more solutions
Running jlog as an Applet
- To run jlog as a applet, select JLog Applet
from the Start menu
- This will start jlog running in a browser
- Use the Consult tab to enter or load your program
- Use the Query tab to enter and run queries
