Advising

Spring Registration Dates

October 2 is the expected date for the schedule to be on the web.

October 23 is the date registration begins -- graduating seniors can register for up to 18 hours in phase one; athletes and DRO students also get to register in the first group.

 ESHE Majors:  Read Thoroughly!

From Dr. Zeakes:

Read the following information to help ensure a successful advising and registration experience.  Remember failure on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part or your advisor’s part.  Registration is all about being prepared and registering during your time slot.  If you fail to register during phase I you have to wait until phase 2 and there may not be the classes you want or need.

For Overrides:  Due to the restricted number of hours you can enroll in during phase I, please don’t panic until the completion of phase 2 and do not come by for force add slips until you have done the following:  1. at the end of Phase 2 see your advisor for options, once you have discussed  all options with your advisor bring a signed note to my office for schedule adjustment  with recommendations for optional courses.  2. see me ASAP after you have discussed this with your advisor, the longer you wait the more difficult it is to get you into a class.  3. Force adds will be done by priority, seniors, juniors, sophomores.

Spring and Summer Advising will begin the week of October 9, 2006.  Check your advisors door or display plate beside your advisor’s door and sign up for a time. Seniors do not delay in making your appointments because you register first.   Advising will be from October 9th through October 20th

Spring Registration Specifics
Spring and summer 2007 class schedules are now posted on the web at https://campusonline.radford.edu/radsubmenu1s.html. Registration for spring and summer 2007 classes will begin on Monday, October 23.  Linking spring and summer registration is an important change RU is initiating this year at the request of students and advisors.  Registration for summer 2007 will continue, with a brief interruption over winter break, until the first day of summer classes.  Students will not be billed for summer classes until late in the spring semester.

Now is the time for ESHE majors to begin planning for registration.  An important action students should take as soon as possible is to set up appointments with their advisors to discuss course selection.  ESHE advisors will begin seeing student on Monday October 10th.  (If you have questions, we suggest that you read the document “Preparing for Your Registration Advising Appointment,” which is posted at http://www.radford.edu/~premajor/registration/PREPARING_FORADVISING_REGISTRATION_fall%2006.doc.)  Registration Data Forms listing registration times and students' PINs will be distributed at the Advising Center In Peters A104.

Schedules to meet with your advisor are posted on their office doors.
