Are you interested in helping others improve their health?

Health Education and Health Promotion is a field in which you can do just that!  A person who majors in Health Education and Health Promotion will work in a variety of settings as a health educator, health coordinator, wellness coordinator, or health project coordinator to help individuals and communities improve their health.  As a health professional, you might help members in a community become more active, or you might help workers in a particular worksite to quit smoking. Positions might include:  developing, implementing, and evaluating education seminars, or developing, implementing, and evaluating large-scale programs to help people change their health-related behaviors.  Graduates of this program can be employed in state and local health departments, in worksites to develop health promotion programs for employees of companies, or in schools to coordinate health programs.

Plus, you will be eligible to take the Certified Health Education Specialist Examination (C.H.E.S.), a credential that is both respected and sought-after in the health promotion field.  For more information about CHES certification, visit the National Commission For Health Education Credentialing, Inc.. http://www.nchec.org/index.htm
