Technique:

1. Pujol - finger patterns cont'd.
2. Slurs
3. Scales - melodic minor (Royal Conservatory or Segovia); rhythmic patterns, quarter = 66; chromatic three-octave scale; Chord Progressions: I - ii - V7 - I and I - vi - IV - V7 - I (4-voice progressions with transpositions)
4. Improvisation: based on above progressions. Spanish flamenco progression and improvisation (vi-III-II-I) and phrygian.

Repertoire:

Candidates must perform one piece from each of lists A, B, and C from Royal Conservatory Grade 5 (Royal Conserv. Rep. Series) or comparable works chosen in consultation with the instructor, such as those listed below (Performance majors must prepare two additional works, one may be an etude). At least one work must be performed from memory.
