Contest
Registration
This page provides background on
registration for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Contest.
Registration includes
(i) entering teams,
(ii) contestants entering their information,
and
(iii) paying.
-
The Coach must create teams
by logging in to the icpc.global
and selecting
Dashboard »
Create Team (Green button; may have to scroll down) »
The 2023 Mid-Atlantic Regional Contest.
-
Adding students to teams can be done later
(though, soon thereafter—ideally by Jan-27, to guarantee t-shirt size).
-
Division 1 vs Division 2:
We are excited to be offering the option of competing either
in Division 1 (more difficult), or in Division 2.
Advancement to the North American Championship will be drawn from Division 1.
You can look at last year's
Div1
and
Div2
problem sets;
we recommend Division 2 for about 70% of our region's teams.
To specify which division, choose the appropriate site
(e.g. Div1: Wilkes University or Div2: Wilkes University ).
A team may switch their division through Feb.16 (8d before contest)
by contacting the site-director or regional director.
Should the registration only shows available space in the "wrong" division,
just claim that "wrong" space and notify us, and we'll fix it.
The registration-system doesn't understand that the
two divisions are physically part of the same site, sorry.
-
New-coach instructions for
icpc.global's system
can be found on the Coach > link of the splash page.
-
Note: Other contests, such as the North American Qualifier (Feb.04),
entail selecting that other contest and making separate teams,.
-
Payment for each team must be received.
The on-time registration fee of
$175/team is due
Jan-30 23:59.
A late-registration (incl. late fee $25/team) is due
after
Feb-09 23:59.
Teams that have not paid by the late deadline will be removed from the roster.
Guests
are $50 each.
Pay here via credit-card.
-
Contestants must complete their profile
at icpc.global.
Do this by Jan-27 (Sat) to get the correct sized t-shirt,
or by the late-deadline Feb-09.
-
t-shirts:
Teams registered and paid by
Jan-27
will get t-shirt size per their ICPC profile
(so be sure your students fill that out, with the rest of their profile).
Those who register after that, but by the late deadline, will get a randomly-sized t-shirt.
-
acceptance:
Unfortunately:
Because of limited availability at sites,
registration and payment does not guarantee that a team will be accepted.
We will monitor site-capacity for over-demand, and alert coaches.
If a school sends more than three teams to an oversubscribed site,
we may ask the coach to reduce their number of teams.
Priority takes payment-date into consideration.
Final decisions on
how many teams are accepted from a particular school
are up to the site director and regional contest director, as they judge fit.
Of course, full refunds are made for teams we can't accomodate.
Refunds
To qualify for a refund,
a team must notify the regional director by
Feb-09 (Mon) 23:59
(the late-registration deadline).
(In the event we must cancel a team
for administrative reasons, a full refund will be provided.)

Switching Regions
Teams from outside the Mid-Atlantic region
who wish to compete in this region must first contact the
Director of Regional Contests,
to receive permission to switch affiliations.
Please make sure to indicate
1) the correct geographic region,
2) the site within the Mid-Atlantic region at which you wish to participate, and
3) the reason for the switch.
Switches are considered if the site at which you wish to participate is geographically
closer than the location of the correct region's contest.
