 Drop off hazardous waste and shred papers
RU Recycling and RU Sustainability are encouraging the campus community to participate Saturday, Oct. 19, in the Household Hazardous Waste and Document Shredding event at the Montgomery Regional Solid Waste Authority (MRSWA) facility in Christiansburg. The event runs from 8 a.m. to noon and is for participants to drop off hazardous materials and keep those materials out of landfills. To learn more about the event, including what items will and will not be accepted, visit the MRSWA website.

You can make a difference like biology professor Dr. Justin Anderson. Anderson and his students are investigating mosquitoes and the viruses they transmit. Their goal is to find a way to prevent the spread of viruses such as West Nile or La Crosse.
