Sustainability

RU SustainABILITYDrop off hazardous waste and shred papers

RU Recycling and RU Sustainability are encouraging the campus community to participate Saturday, Oct. 19, in the Household Hazardous Waste and Document Shredding event at the Montgomery Regional Solid Waste Authority (MRSWA) facility in Christiansburg. The event runs from 8 a.m. to noon and is for participants to drop off hazardous materials and keep those materials out of landfills. To learn more about the event, including what items will and will not be accepted, visit the MRSWA website.

Alumni News

You can have the behind the scenes view of the action while the basketball teams practice during the Highlanders All-Access Basketball Preview on Satuday, Oct. 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the Dedmon Center. Catch an early glimpse of this year's basketball teams as they tip off their 2013-14 season. Visit with head coaches Mike Jones and Mike McGuire, and watch your favorite Highlanders scrimmage. Food will be provided while alumni watch the coaches in action with the team. Cost is $10 for general public, and free to all Radford University Athletics Club members and season ticket holders.
