Mark Lineburg '91, superintendent of Bristol, Va. schools, was named Superintendent of the Year for southwestern Virginia, a region that includes 19 schools systems. According to Lineburg, the recognition by his peers is a credit to his entire school system.

Only one week left for graduating seniors to get their student philanthropy cords for commencement day. More than 200 graduating seniors have taken the Highlander 10 challenge and donated at least $10 to their college or program of choice. They received a red and white cord to wear at graduation and will be recognized for their generosity to their alma mater during the commencement ceremony. From now until graduation, you can get your cord in Martin Hall, room 226.
