Rules For Mineral Collecting

• Obtain permission to enter private property.

• Do not collect in state and national parks.

• Label all specimens.  Include the location, date, and identification of the specimen.

• Show exceptional specimens to professionals at a nearby college or a gem and mineral society.

• Leave the site in good condition.  Take only what you need.  Do not destroy or trash property.

• Be safe!  Wear eye and hand protection.  Be aware of hazards such as poison ivy, poisonous animals, and falling rocks.
