practice with booleans

To get checked off for today's lab, finish the first bullet below plus the next four problems.

• Register for an account at javabat.com (link at upper-right of that page).
  (You don't need to register. However, it's up to you to save the programs yourself. For the duration of today's lab, you might open each problem in its own tab. Be sure to save your work before logging out!)
• sortaSum (if-else; return int)
• nearHundred (boolean operators; return boolean)
• in3050 (boolean operators)
• sleepIn (booleans as inputs)

  For this problem, note that the “not” operator is “!”. For example,

  if (! msg.equals("howdy")) …

  is equivalent to

  if (msg.equals("howdy") == false) …

  You can use whichver variant you like (but you'll need to be able to understand code which uses !).

Bonus Challenge: Who can complete the most of the following problems? (in order — no skipping!).

• monkeyTrouble (boolean inputs, operators)
• lastDigit (mod; return boolean)
• twoAsOne (use boolean operators || or &&)
• lessBy10 (difficult; hint: use Math.max and Math.min)
• startOz (difficult)
• greenTicket (if-else-if)
• backAround (string manip)
• frontBack (string manip)
