including the Lynch Castle

Galway and environs are associated with W. B. Yeats, Lady Augusta
Gregory, and other members of the
Irish Revival, so there is a
great variety of cultural and literary sites to visit.

South from Galway, near Gort,
is a famous Coole Park, the estate of Lady Gregory, frequented by W. B.
Yeats for close to 30 summers. Not far from Coole Park is another literary
attraction: W. B. Yeats's Thoor Ballylee, a Roman tower purchased by the
