2022 Graduate Spotlight - BSW
BSW Graduate Chassidy Dillard - "The social work program has allowed me to branch out on my ideas and passions about the social well-being of many individuals. Coming into Radford, I was undecided and decided to do nursing, but I realized that my heart would not be fulfilled with that career for the rest of my life. I knew that I wanted to make an impact on individuals' lives significantly, so I decided to major in social work, and it was one of the best decisions I ever decided to make. The social work program allowed me to think critically about social problems that are happening to individuals in society. I was able to expand on my ideas intellectually and research about different systemic issues. I love the fact that there are many avenues to social work, and I can branch out and work with many entities in the future. After graduation, I will be interning at TAP in Roanoke with the WINGS program. I will be working with women who were previously incarcerated and need help assimilating back into society. It will be super exciting, and I am anticipating the experience that I will receive. Soon, I will be enrolling in graduate school to receive my law degree, which is something that I am very passionate about! A special thank you to my professors who have been very supportive throughout my undergrad experience and recommending me for this recognition. Thank you to my parents and God who have got me this far and continue to support me through anything I put my mind to!"
