About the Scholar-Citizen Initiative
The Scholar-Citizen Initiative is one of five High Impact Practice programs at Radford University. The SCI supports RU's teaching and civic missions by providing high quality, civically-minded learning experiences that prepare students to put their intellectual skills to work for the public good. Through integration of classroom and "beyond the classroom" co-curricular learning opportunities, Scholar-Citizen Intensive, or “SCI”, experiences attend to the whole student, helping her or him develop records of achievement in the areas of public service, leadership, and applied research.
Faculty members can learn more about Scholar-Citizen designation for their courses, applying for SCI funding and more on the Faculty Scholar-Citizen website.
Students can learn more about how to graduate with distinction as a Scholar-Citizen or Scholar-Citizen Fellow, how to apply for a Scholar-Citizen in Action Award, or how to become involved with SCI co-curriculars through the Student Scholar-Citizen website.
