COVID-19 Vaccines Available Tomorrow for Main Campus Students

Important Update on COVID-19 Global Health Pandemic at Radford University Message from President Brian O. Hemphill, Ph.D.

Dear Students:

As the vaccine rollout continues across the Commonwealth of Virginia and in our local community, I am pleased to share that COVID-19 vaccines will be available tomorrow (Thursday, April 8, 2021) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dedmon Center through the riverside entrance. If you have not received the COVID-19 vaccine and wish to do so, this is a wonderful opportunity to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of yourself and others.

Please note that pre-registration is required, and walk-ups will not be permitted. To register for tomorrow’s vaccine clinic, which is being held in partnership with the New River Health District <link provided to main campus students.>

As part of tomorrow’s clinic, there are 1,000 available appointments, which will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that additional vaccines are anticipated to be available next week with specific details forthcoming.

For confirmed appointments, main campus students should arrive at the Dedmon Center no more than five minutes early and follow signage to the riverside entrance. When arriving for a vaccine appointment, a Radford University issued student identification, specifically a ONE Card, must be shown as part of the check-in process. A government issued photo identification, such as a driver’s license or a passport, is also required.

The vaccine is recommended even if you previously had COVID-19. Please strongly consider the great benefits of being vaccinated. Again, we will ensure additional opportunities are provided, and every interested Highlander receives a vaccine as soon as possible!

With Highlander Pride,

Brian O. Hemphill, Ph.D.
President
