COVID-19 Dashboard Shows Continued Decline in Overall Positivity Rate

Important Update on COVID-19 Global Health Pandemic at Radford University Message from President Brian O. Hemphill, Ph.D.

Dear Radford Family:

As part of the University’s continued effort to provide weekly updates, I am pleased to share the latest testing data as part of the University COVID-19 Dashboard. To date, as part of the Spring 2021 semester, the University has administered a total of 2,982 tests with 40 positives, representing an overall positivity rate of 1.34 percent. The overall positivity rate has decreased for the fourth week in a row and is now equal to the semester’s initial positivity rate from re-entry testing.

For the most recent reporting period, February 8-14, 2021, Radford University administered 418 tests with two positives, representing a weekly positivity rate of 0.48 percent. This marks the second consecutive weekly update in which there have been two positive cases.

Over the course of the semester, Highlanders have remained fully committed to their health, safety, and well-being and that of others. Please maintain this level of commitment for the remainder of the semester by continuing to comply with face covering, gathering limitation, and physical distancing requirements.

With Highlander Pride,

Brian O. Hemphill, Ph.D.
President
