Registration is underway for two summer programs hosted by the College of Science and Technology (CSAT): Summer Bridge and Camp Invention.

The Summer Bridge Program, set for July 10 –15, is a residential experience for rising sophomore, junior and senior high school girls interested in science, technology and mathematics. In Summer Bridge, students explore themed tracks for different areas of science and technology, such as space, geology, forensic science and environmental science through classroom lessons, laboratory experiments and field experiences. Summer Bridge classes feature Radford University faculty and current Radford students as teaching assistants and counselors.

"We encourage the campus community to help connect us with young women interested in the sciences who can take advantage of this unique opportunity for a fun immersion in the sciences and the college atmosphere," said CSAT Dean Orion Rogers.

Camp Invention students explore science
Camp Invention is led by a faculty of local educators who encourage students to become independent inventors, explore science and technology and their own creativity.

Camp Invention, set for June 20-24 in Radford’s new Center for the Sciences and Reed-Curie Hall, is a nationally acclaimed science education program for children entering grades one through six.

Led by a faculty of local educators who encourage students to become independent inventors, explore science and technology and their own creativity, Camp Invention is backed by the National Inventors Hall of Fame and a partnership with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

CSAT has hosted the weeklong exploration of science, technology, creativity and inventiveness for eight years. For more information and registration, visit the Camp Invention website.
