Offices of University Relations and University Advancement win multiple awards at CASE District III Conference

Radford University's Office of University Relations and Office of University Advancement received three awards for outstanding publications during the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District III Conference Feb. 14-17 in Nashville, Tennessee, including the Grand Award – the highest award possible in the annual fund print and digital publication category.

Selecting from more than 1,000 entries, CASE awarded honors to two Radford University publications: The Magazine of Radford University and the 25th Anniversary of Selu fundraising publication.

Among the honors bestowed was the Grand Award – the highest award CASE offers in a category – for its 25th Anniversary of Selu fundraising publication in the annual fund print and digital publication category.

The Magazine of Radford University took home awards in two categories, winning a Special Merit Award in the Magazine Tabloid Improvement category and earning an Award of Excellence for its Summer 2015 edition in the print and digital publications category. Only two magazines from institutions with an enrollment between 5,000 and 15,000 received this honor for their alumni magazine.

Joe Carpenter, vice president for university relations and chief communications officer, said, "These awards reflect positively on the University Relations' team and our efforts to advance and advocate the many accomplishments represented by Radford University's talented alumni, students, faculty, staff and our many supporters." He added, "I am proud of our staff's teamwork, creativity and professionalism."

Both the 25th Anniversary of Selu fundraising publication and The Magazine of Radford University are collaborative projects between the Office of University Relations and the Office of University Advancement.

More than 1,000 projects from public and private educational institutions from across the Southeast were submitted to contend for awards in CASE's 68 categories. In each category, up to three Special Merit Awards, up to two Awards of Excellence and one Grand Award are chosen. Those who receive the Grand Award exemplify best practices in supporting advancement for their institutions.
