Experience Business Casually at COBE

Radford University's College of Business and Economics (COBE) is hosting its fifth annual Experience Business Casually career development event Friday, Sept. 20, in the COBE Building.

The event is co-sponsored by the Office of Career Services and Community Engagement.
Open to all RU students, Experience Business Casually will feature alumni, business executives and friends of COBE who will provide tips to the students for succeeding in the job and internship market.

"Experience Business Casually should be on every students must attend list," said Debbie Pauley, assistant to the dean in the College of Business and Economics. "It is a great opportunity to receive free, fast and valuable information which could give them the edge they need to make successful business contacts."

Students will be briefed on topics such as "Questions to ask an Employer," "Dining Etiquette," "Common Interview Questions" and "Making a First Impression." Among the participants will be representatives from Fortune 500 companies, federal and state agencies and non-profit organizations.

Experience Business Casually gives students an opportunity to interact with business professionals in a casual setting and learn career-development elements involving resume reviews, interpersonal communication and professional images.

Students are encouraged to dress business casual for the event and to network with the representatives to compile tip sheets for future reference. Students also are encouraged to bring their resumes to be critiqued at the event.

Experience Business Casually runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the COBE Multipurpose Room.
