Following a national search and a series of candidate interviews and presentations on campus, George S. Low has been selected to serve as the next dean of Radford University’s (RU) College of Business and Economics.

He currently serves as associate dean for Undergraduate Studies and International Programs at Texas Christian University’s M.J. Neeley School of Business in Fort Worth. Low will begin his tenure at Radford University on July 1, 2014.

“Dr. Low was selected from an extremely competitive field of candidates with a wide variety of skills and experiences,” said RU President Penelope W. Kyle. “He has an exciting vision to build upon the successes of RU’s College of Business and Economics, including our focus on scholarship and for preparing our students for the dynamic career fields they will experience. He is a proven leader and scholar that will guide the college, faculty and students to ambitious new goals.  We look forward to welcoming him to Radford University,” added the president.

"I want to sincerely thank the members of the COBE Dean Search Committee for their great efforts to successfully conclude this search,” said RU Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Sam Minner. “More than eighty qualified applicants were considered for this important position and the committee demonstrated extraordinary commitment and dedication to the task,” Minner added.

In addition to his administrative roles at Texas Christian, Low has served as marketing department chair (2007-11), associate professor of marketing (since 2000) and assistant professor of marketing (1996-2000).

Low served as an American Council on Education Fellow at the University of Texas at Arlington (2011-12) and has taught marketing at the University of Lethbridge and Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management.

Low brings to RU expertise in marketing communications management, brand and product management and marketing performance management.

Prior to his career as an administrator and educator, Low worked in advertising throughout Canada.

Low earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration at the University of Colorado-Boulder Graduate School of Business Administration, a Master of Business Administration from The University of Western Ontario Richard Ivey School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts in advertising at Brigham Young University.

COBE’s undergraduate and graduate programs are accredited by AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). Recently, the college was listed as one of the Princeton Review's "Best 295 Business Schools" in 2014.
